An Urban Legend  which must start with a grain of truth to be truly effective, is a story which has been  embroidered and retold  and then sent, fully dressed, into the realm of myth. The power of the Urban Legend lies in it’s ability to be passed on  so far, so fast and so often.

Once created Urban Legends  move on and take up residence in our computers and mailboxes, they join us at Pubs and Water-coolers and on long bus rides and plane rides home..

 The Fort Mountain Ghost

 On a trip to Georgia this young man asked a friend to take his picture to send home to his family.

Right after taking the picture the photographer went into convulsions and died, it was determined later that the person who took the picture had a bad heart.

and the young man in the picture?

He never actually saw the picture, his camera was lost on the way to the hospital.

He resurfaced recently“ in the news.

Apparently he had a bad heart too, because after viewing the image he died from ‘heart failure’ as well.

The young man in the picture saw the image in an e-mail as part of Internet e-mail ‘hoax’ and from both  his death and the death of the photographer and  was born the
